Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNO): In Kashmir, people are fond of having the best interior designs in their homes and for that wood panelling, PVC panelling and other interior designing methods are making strong in roads. To provide this all in an affordable range with best quality, a young entrepreneur from Srinagar Faizan Nehvi has come a long way. Faizan is making even the poor feel happy as he as a solution to one and all. With his unique methods and designing techniques, the young lad is changing the interiors of homes across Kashmir through PVC, Wood, customised wallpapers and other panelling methods. “It is not just my profession but my passion. At an affordable price, I provide best designs to my customers,” says Nehvi, who runs FNG group. Based in Srinagar, Faizan has designed hundreds of houses including those belong the lower-income groups as well. “I have designs for poor, rich and richer as well,” he said. “I have hundreds of varieties of wood and PVC panelling for ceilings, walls, lobbies, stairs, kitchens, and floors. The number of designs are endless and material is that of a real quality. Range of material matters depending upoun the choice of the customer.” FNG group is gaining fame each passing day with Faizan’s heart, mind and soul behind it. In the recent 15th Annual General Meeting held by the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries where members of its Executive Committee were elected for the year 2022-23, Faizan was elected as member of Executive Committee and also received the award ‘Best Interior Designer of Kashmir’ for his outstanding work in the field. The young lad has done his schooling from Tyndale Biscoe and has pursued civil engineering from SSM college of Science and Technology. His work includes interior designing of residences, hotels, restaurants, cafes etc.. Faizan told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that everyone is busy and they don’t have time to pay attention to every minute detail related to designing. “It demands a lot of planning and organizing. People take our suggestions. The market is huge but interior designers are still comparatively less,” he said, adding that “I got the idea of setting up a studio when I travelled to other parts of India and saw people seeking help from professionals.” He said that the traditional way of designing in Kashmir is still adopted by a section of people but the scenario is changing and the industry of designing is picking up in the valley. “Post 2014 floods in Kashmir, people have changed the way they used to get their interiors of the house designed. Most of the families prefer PVC-Polyvinyl Chloride panels in their ground floor and use wood in the second story. Wood is quite expensive so people go for PVC,” he said. At present Faizan is over busy given the countless orders and site visits he has received from various parts of Kashmir. “I am providing employment to over a dozen youth of Kashmir and some outsiders. As my business gains speed, I am sure I would be able to employ more people and march ahead,” he said—(KNO)
